It is a little known fact that the TY Company has produced eight domestic cats. If you count the current four, including the new February 1997 release, Snip the cat, style #4120. I believe, but cannot verify, that the TY Company introduced the first Zip style #4004, and Nip, style #4003, in early 1994. Their black ink body tags seem to indicate that time frame. These original cats are much larger than the current cats. Their bodies are the size of spot the white dog, style #4000, or a lay down bear and feature a white upside down triangle which begins above the nose and covers the entire belly. Their paws are body color. Both these early cats have second or third generation tags and pink ears, nose and whiskers. Their eyes are smaller and black, not their later green or gold eyes of the current cats. The first versions of Zip and Nip are retired and have a present value of $125 each!
