The 4 (Non Plush) Beanie Babies

Scottie, the Terrier, style #4102, is the original nappy black terrier to join the Ty Beanie Babies Collection in mid 1996. He, along with Curly the Bear, style #4052, Birthdate: April 12, 1996, introduced in mid 1996, were designed by Mr. Ty with this fabric change. On January 1, 1997, when Fleece the Lamb, style #4125, Birthdate: March 21, 1996, made her debut and replaced Chops the Lamb, style #4019, Birthdate: May 3, 1996, she also had the nappy fabric!!! Fleece does have a light plush face and inner ears. And of course when the Ty Company introduced Tuffy the Terrier, style #4108, Birthdate: October 12, 1996, the brown two toned lovable pooch, on Mother's Day 1997, with the brown plush fabric used only on his inner ears! Oh and yes, Beanie lovers, the original Tuffy Ty swing tag was spelled with all capital letters (TUFFY). At the present time the lettering has been corrected and all Tuffy's have the lower case lettering. We all have to admit the ears on Tuffy are adorable. I just love those ears!!

Scottie, the all black Terrier, originally celebrated his birthday on June 3, 1996, a good way for collectors to know the distribution time frame of the original Scottie!! The current released Scottie has a birthday change to: June 15, 1996. This is an interesting fun fact because Freckles, the leopard, style #4066, new birthdate is June 3, 1996. His old birthdate was July 28, 1996. I would assume some future Beanie will take over Freckles' old birth date. We have to wait and see what Ty Inc. has planned. I wonder if this is as confusing to the Babies as it is to the collectors!! Yikes, this is confusing and I have to grab my glasses to be able to read the birthdates when I am in a Beanie Baby mood!!

I will share the 4 non plush Babies' poems with you!

Curly

A bear so cute with hair that's curly
You will love and want him surely
To this bear always be true
He will be a friend to you!

Fleece

Fleece would like to sing a lullaby
But please be patient, she's rather shy
When you sleep, keep her by your ear
Her song will leave you nothing to fear

Scottie

Scottie is a friendly sort
Even though his legs are short
He is always happy as can be
His best friends are you and me!

Tuffy

Taking off with a thunderous blast
Tuffy rides his motorcycle fast
The Beanies roll with laughs and squeals
He never took off his training wheels!
