Sparky,
the dalmatian, style # 4100, was introduced in mid 1996, wearing the
fourth generation (poem) Ty tag. He has had an interesting Beanie Baby
life!! Remember back in January of 1997 when the Ty Company retired him
and Radar!! The frenzied collectors were scrambling and calling all around
to collect their darling dalmatian.
Suddenly late January the following day the Ty Company admitted to an error and reclined the retirement news. Well there were informed and misinformed Beanie Fanatics confused but who cares we all love Sparky anyway! Sparky was formally retired on May 11, 1997. Sparky's birthdate is: February 27, 1996 . He has had many versions of poems! I will share them with you!!
Sparky rides proud on the fire truck
Ringing the bell and pushing his luck
Gets under foot when trying to help (He often gets stepped on crying
yelp!)
He often gets stepped on and lets out a yelp! (Step on him and he'll
let out a yelp!)
Sparky's market price in November 1997 is $50.00 - $75.00 Sparky with the Dotty sewn in tag is $55.00 - $75.00
Dotty, the dalmatian, style # 4100 was officially introduced on May 11, 1997 to replace Sparky because of a registered trademark of the National Fire Protection Association. Their mascot is named Sparky. Interestingly Dotty tags were sneaking out of the Ty Nursery early on Sparky!! Well this is history! Of course the Beanie Fanatics were going crazy buying the mistagged Sparkys!! The present market price for November, 1997 is still in the $55.00-$75.00 range! This will eventually change because there were less Sparkys with the Dotty sewn in tags!
Dotty's birthdate is October 17, 1996. The only change in her appearance is her ears and tail have been changed to black!!
Her poem is:
The Beanies all thought it was a big joke
While writing her tag, their ink pen broke
She got in the way, and got all spotty
So now the Beanies call her Dotty!
